All the press following the RNC is proof positive that John McCain got exactly what he was aiming for in his selection of a running mate. McCain was starting to sound like a whiner in a "nation of whiners" to quote his fellow republican, constantly declaring that the press was giving more attention to Mr. Obama than to him in a effort to draw attention back to himself. Those efforts seemed to be backfiring, making us all feel a little sorry for McCain, especially since we all like him for being a war hero.
Then along came Sarah Palin, a mother of five, and former mayor and 2 year governor of Alaska, a state consisting of about 280,000 people, or a little under the size of St. Paul, with a population of 287,000 people. Never-mind that most of them are male, and enjoy looking at a decent looking female once in awhile!
So this woman who has chosen to be a pro-life advocate and then given birth to five children has decided to accept the nomination for VP? Well, obviously she can use the money with all those kids to raise! All kidding aside though, does it not speak to a persons character that they would have five children and then NOT make them the priority in their life? What more important job is there than raising your children? Can any woman really be a Mom to 5 kids and run a country on the side, or vica-versa? Think about it.
John McCain also is silent on the tax issue, while Barack Obama is openly honest and up front saying he will raise taxes on the people who can afford to give and sacrifice just a bit more for their country. Now all the elite wealthy people oppose this of course, it might cut into their country club memberships that run them $500.00 a month God-forbid. They don't want that money going to young mothers that need to work, but can't afford to because of the high price of day care. They don't care if your child has to walk to school in sub-zero temperatures because the school buses won't pick you up unless you live over 2 miles away from the school anymore. These little nuisances and a multitude of others like them don't apply to them, they are not things that concern them and they simply don't care.
Barack Obama does care, and that is exactly why I will cast my vote in November for Barack Obama, and if you're smart you will research the issues, forget the commercials, look at the candidates histories, which will speak for themselves. We simply cannot afford 4 more years of empty promises and more of the same.
